Catherine (Cat) Wall teaches drum-kit, snare drum and percussion students of all ages at her home studio in Halswell, Christchurch. She is also currently teaching drums at Ararira Springs, Halswell, Knights Stream,   Prebbleton & Russley Schools. 

Since January 2021, Cat has been on drum-kit with Christchurch's All Girl Big Band! She is currently also playing with New Orleans second-line style band Ambush Brass, and is preparing to record an original album with folk-rock-blues band The Billhawks. Cat also plays regularly in the Christchurch-based rock & pop cover band End Game.

 

Until mid 2014, Cat played snare drum with the Canterbury Caledonian Society Pipe Band. This band qualified for the Grade One final at the World Pipe Band Championships in 2013, 2014 & 2015 and won the New Zealand Pipe Band and Drum Corps Championships in 2012 through 2017.

In 2008 & 2009, Cat resided in Vancouver Canada, where she taught and played within the world-renowned Simon Fraser University Pipe Band organisation. During this time, Catherine received snare drum instruction from six-time World Champion Drum Sergeant J. Reid Maxwell.

Cat holds a Level 6 Diploma in Performance Music (Drum-Kit), as well as a Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications (Television Production). She is currently studying drum-kit online with Dom Famularo (USA).
